North Western Railway (NWR), India

North Western Railway (NWR) is one of the 19 zones of Indian Railways that was officially carved out from two divisions each of the Northern and Western Railway zones. NWR spans across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, and Haryana, covering over 5,761 km of route length. It includes four divisions: Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner, and plays a key role in freight and passenger movement, including international services like the Thar Express to Pakistan. NWR supports major infrastructure projects such as the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, contributing to the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor. The zone is actively involved in modernization, electrification, and public-private partnerships for enhanced rail services.
